About

Somewhere in this vast world, there is a magical island. Every summer, princesses from all corners of the world gather there to learn the secrets of being a princess. Among them are wise Amelia from the land of mountains, carefree Maja from India, diligent Yuki from Japan, witty Faustina from France, and timid Smiltelė from the land of clouds and rain. They are all very different, yet they share the same dream: to become true princesses. So they establish a Princess School on the island and call their lessons “Wonders”, for they are nothing like the lessons taught in an ordinary school…

Audience Reviews

  • Thank you! It was such a pleasure to watch and listen to the performance. I felt like a little princess myself! 👑🦋

  • “Birutė Mar, Alvydė, Aleksandra and Gintarė, I have never seen more genuine princesses than you. Thank you for reminding me that nothing is more real than a little girl’s belief in goodness! Princesses’ Island was created for children (especially girls), but it is also perfect for those of us who forgot to enrol. Perhaps that is why I received a notebook for Christmas this year. And a magical quill. Ah.”

  • “The performance Princesses’ Island is like a little girl’s flight into childhood, a world filled with fascinating activities, make-believe and adventures. It offers a glimpse into those hidden corners of our childhood imagination where we could soar without limits, unable to distinguish our daydreams from reality. Everything was real. Anything could be imagined, drawn and brought to life in an instant. The director and actress’s vision of revealing the beautiful sides of a playful soul through beauty is enchanting. As children, we were all loved to some extent, and even if we were toughened up or subjected to strict discipline, it ultimately did us good. But princesses… They know everything from the very beginning. They never doubt that everything is exactly as they wish it to be, exactly as it should be. That is why life comes so easily and joyfully to them. And what does a broken fingernail or lipstick melted in the sun matter? What truly matters is a hat worn like a crown and a heart full of tender charm.”

  • “The Island of Five Princesses, with ‘Wonders’ instead of lessons, and oh, how very, very much I loved it! ❤️

To my eyes and ears, the island was filled with aesthetic beauty, tenderness, a refined sense of lightness (in both the dialogue and songs), striking visuals (the talking Moon had a very AI feel to it, thanks to Marius Vilčinskas 👏), and gentle, unobtrusive interaction with the audience… I had missed being reminded of how beautifully small details work within a clear, predictable structure. Even my two-year-old stayed captivated for the entire 60 minutes! 👌 Thank you, radiant Princesses! ❣️ I’m off to create an island of my own! ⭐”
